Unicef United nation found for childhood is a United nation’s agency founded in 1946 to help the children who have been victims of World War II. Between 1946 and 1953 it was present in various european countries and also in Italy with several actions in children’s favour. The situation was drammatic; in 1949 more than 72 children per 1000 new born were dying and in very pour regions such as Basilicata, the deaths were even 110 on 1000.

ActionAid International is an indipendent international organisation committed in the fight of poverty and social exclusion causes. It acts principally through long terms development programs in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Il progetto “Ceramica Solidale”, concepito nel 2004 con la collaborazione del Comune e della Curia Arcivescovile di Caltagirone, consiste in un corso di formazione sulle tecniche di uso del tornio, della smaltatura e della decorazione, per gli allievi della scuola d’arte della Missione Sao Tiago di Porto Velho in Brasile, diretta da padre Enzo Mangano. La scuola si trova in una regione amazzonica del Brasile particolarmente povera e depressa, dove questa missione cattolica da anni combatte le molte piaghe della disoccupazione e della tossicodipendenza. L’idea che anima “Ceramica Solidale” è formare sul posto giovani artigiani e realizzare un prodotto finito per commercializzarlo attraverso il circuito del mercato ecosolidale, in modo da investire il ricavato in ulteriori iniziative di lotta alla povertà di quei martoriati luoghi.

Canguro ‘onlus’ built a hospital-aeroplane with operating theatres and holds full of medicines, food and high tech surgical instruments. A proper “flying clinic” conceived to aid peoples struck by natural calamities in inaccessible places, unattainable by traditional mean of transportation.

Adama onlus is concerned with supporting children living in the poorest areas of India. Care, support, child sponsorship. Every year, by special flights, adoptive parents go to the spot to meet the little ones.

Action aid international fights against poverty and social alienation, by specific development programs in Asia, Africa, Latin America. It is possible to sponsor a child.

Telefono azzurro is an organization for the guardianship of the childhood. The goal is to follow the child during the entire period of his growth, to protect him against any physical or psychological abuse.

Unicef is the United Nations found to help children victims of war, set up in 1946. Its offices are in New York, and it includes 158 countries. Sponsored by governments and private persons, Unicef won in 1965 the Nobel Prize for Peace.

In the past, thanks to the courage of some aviators and the generosity of many private persons, has already been possible to prepare special flights to bring humanitarian aid to people in trouble, even if far away. People overwhelmed by wars or severe natural disasters – catastrophes, earthquakes, and tsunami – receive loads of indispensable articles, to be distributed to those, mainly children, who are more exposed to calamities. As is happened, for example, in Kosovo.

Now the project gets more ambitious. Canguro O.N.L.U.S. Flights Aid (Non-profit making organization for community work) plans to realize the first in Europe proper Hospital Plane. We will deal with a large aircraft equipped like a true “air clinic”, with two ophthalmologic operating theatres, one deontological room as well as holds full of high tech instruments, medicines and food. It may be the only possible salvation for isolated villages, where the so-called “last hope journeys” would be logistically impracticable and economically prohibitive.

Telefono Azzurro intends to promote, expecially through a constant work of information, sensibilisation and diffusion of the knowledge acquired, a total respect for the individual during the first period of training and of the whole evolutive age, safeguarding the natural potentials of growth and defending them, towards abuses, also unintentional, of of fisical or phsycological nature and that could, since the first years of their life, be detrimental to its realisation. Starting from the children, listening to their needs and reading the reality that sorround them, to built a real childhood culture. For this reason, Telefono Azzurro intends to collaborate with institutions, associations and territorial realities, to render a concrete reality, the children and teen-agers’s rights in a society that can really respect them.

Doctors without borders – MSF is an international private association born to offer health rescue to the population in danger and to testify human right violations, to whom this association assists during its mission. MSF is indipendent and it is not linked to politics parties or to religious confessions and it has non-profits making. It acts accordind to the universal medical ethic without any discrimination of race, religion, sex or opinions.

Non tutti i bambini hanno la fortuna di avere una stanza ricolma di giocattoli, abitini appena comprati che profumano ancora di nuovo, e il privilegio di una vita serena.
Queste cose per noi scontate, per i ragazzini indiani sono eccezionali e straordinarie.
Proprio a loro dà una mano l’associazione Adama, nata dalla collaborazione tra Vanni Cravero e Mr Antony, fondatore RADWS, associazione senza scopo di lucro che si occupa del futuro dei bambini che abitano nel Distretto dell’Andha Pradesh.
Adama si occupa di assicurare ai piccoli dei villaggi di Cuppadah la cura e il sostegno di genitori italiani che li adottano a distanza. Ogni anno Vanni organizza un viaggio per gli sponsor (così vengono chiamati i genitori adottivi) per dar loro la possibilità di conoscere i ragazzi.
